2013 Summary + Birthday Celebration: MaBW at the Mall!

Hey guys!

Hope you’ve had a great winter break and are raring to get back to school! (Probably not, but that’s besides the point.) We just wanted to give a quick update with what’s happened in the last few months with PL and an upcoming community event. (If you’ve seen our post on fB already from a few weeks back, skip to the “NEW UPDATE!”)

First of all, we have proudly donated OVER FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY BLANKETS in 2013! These blankets have gone to comfort children affiliated with multiple new beneficiaries that we have picked up this year (for a full list, visit here: http://scvprojectlinus.org/beneficiaries-who-we-comfort/), and we hope for their happiness in the coming year.

As a result, we’ve used up much of our funds from this year’s fundraiser towards fabric for aforementioned 450 blankets, and are currently in need of more. If you would like to send checks to the PL address on our chapter website (here: http://scvprojectlinus.org/donations/), you can get your donation on 2014’s tax return. We also have an Amazon Wish List under our chapter coordinator’s account (shared below); purchases from said list can also be listed on tax returns as charity write-offs. Amazon purchases will be automatically sent to our P.O. box, and you can request the tax ID number from our chapter coordinator Mrs. Garvar at sgarvar@gmail.com.

Thank you for all your support throughout 2013, and we hope you’ll continue to stay updated as to how you can help our cause this year!

In celebration of SCVSPL’s first birthday, we will be having a COMMUNITY WIDE MaBW at the mall on February 15th, 2014! Come join us anytime from 10 AM to 9 PM in front of Sears and Red Robin to help make blankets–SIGNUP WILL BE POSTED TOMORROW! (If you’d like to help with teaching volunteers how to make fleece blankets, knit, or crochet, see Mrs. Garvar.) We want a huge turnout, so tell everyone you know all over the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond. Hoping to see you there!

Finally, remember to come to Project Linus meetings! This semester, meeting dates may change, so keep a lookout for updates. We’ll see you in class! 🙂
